5G vs satellite

Before you pick a dish,
check your Rodeo Stampede 5G options.

The right connection starts with your location, the full price and the way you use the internet.

What Rodeo is seeing locally

Room to stream.
Room to get things done.

Reported local observations—not a nationwide speed guarantee.

Around 300 / 50 Mbps

Download / upload average reported by Rodeo from local experience.

Occasionally 810 / 120 Mbps

Rare download / upload results reported by Rodeo. These are exceptional observations, not expected everyday speeds.

Reported October 17, 2026. Test dates, sample size, devices and testing method have not yet been documented. Actual performance depends on carrier, plan, signal, congestion and equipment. These observations are not an independent benchmark or a head-to-head satellite test.

Arcadyan Dragon XC46BE · hardware capability

Approximately 1.6 Gbps down.
200 Mbps up.

Theoretical modem category capability under ideal conditions—not an advertised Rodeo service speed or a 5G speed guarantee.

The Dragon documents modem download Category 19 and upload Category 18. The upload category ceiling is approximately 211 Mbps, rounded here to about 200 Mbps. Actual throughput depends on supported network features, plan, signal, congestion and connected devices. A single 1 Gbps LAN port also limits that wired connection.

A specific saving, not a blanket promise.Rodeo’s $129 equipment-included monthly price is $46 below Starlink Roam Unlimited’s published $175 service price. That compares recurring charges only: Rodeo requires 12 months plus $65 setup, coverage and travel permissions differ, and satellite may work beyond Rodeo Stampede 5G coverage. Lower-priced satellite tiers and promotions also exist.

Equipment ownership is part of Rodeo’s offer. It does not mean every satellite option costs more upfront: some advertise subsidized or no-upfront hardware. Compare the actual quote, lease obligations and total term cost.

Can Rodeo Stampede beat a fiber plan?A strong 5G connection can exceed the download rate of a lower-speed fiber plan. That does not make 5G faster than fiber as a technology. fiber also offers symmetric and multi-gigabit services; upload speed, latency and consistency matter alongside downloads.
